Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-8-THC) is a lesser-known cannabinoid that is found in smaller quantities in the cannabis plant. It is an isomer of Delta-9-THC, which is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. Delta-8-THC is believed to have similar, but typically less potent, psychoactive effects as Delta-9-THC.

Like Delta-9-THC, Delta-8-THC interacts with cannabinoid receptors in the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) to produce a variety of effects. However, it is believed to have a lower psychotropic potency and may produce a more clear-headed high. It is also believed to have potential therapeutic benefits, including reducing nausea and vomiting, and improving appetite. Some research suggests that delta-8 THC may have sedative effects, which could potentially help with sleep. However, more research is needed to fully understand the potential sleep-related benefits of delta-8 THC.
It is always best to consult with a doctor or medical professional before using any form of cannabis or its derivatives for sleep or any other medical condition. Delta-8-THC is typically consumed in the form of oils or edibles. It can also be found in some cannabis strains, although it is present in much smaller quantities compared to Delta-9-THC.  It is also important to note that delta-8 THC is not legal in all states and countries, and its legal status may change.
